Dear Elder Winegar, Congratulations on your call to the Czech/Slovak Mission. From the time this mission was first opened in 1929 by Elder John A. Widtsoe of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles, it has been one of the great and historic missions of the Church. We are certain that you will find great satisfaction and accomplishment in your service here. We know that there are people here waiting for you to bring the good news of the restored gospel into their lives. As you prepare for your mission, there are a few items about which you should be aware: First, due to the transfer schedule in our mission, your release date will be another month beyond the 24-month period, making it a 25-month mission. Your release date is 8 August 2025. Please note this date as you plan for your schooling or work when you return home. Second, it can take several months to get a visa.
