Letter To President And Sister Skousen

Hey President and Sister Skousen,

My name Is Hayden Winegar and I was assigned to start my mission on July 31st. I was born into a family that was active in the church. Both of my parents grew up in an active family and all of my grandparents are still active in the church. I am the second oldest of four children. I have one older sister who graduated in 2022, a little sister heading into 9th grade, and a little brother heading into 7th grade. I was born and
raised in Gilbert, Arizona and just recently graduated from Highland High School. While I was in highschool my life revolved around basketball and volleyball year round. I won a basketball state championship my senior year of highschool and made a game winning three point shot in second overtime to secure the win in the state championship. I have been a part of one of the best volleyball teams in the country the past several years and even won a national championship in Kansas City three years ago. I also was fortunate enough to make it to the state championship the last two years for volleyball. Throughout highschool I have had many great friends who are almost all going out to serve missions too. They have helped me make tough decisions easier and have all been great examples to me. I ended high school with a 4.1 GPA and was accepted into BYU where I will be attending college following my mission. I’m super excited to serve in the Czech/Slovak mission and can’t wait to get started!

Sincerely, Hayden Winegar
