WEEK 2 OF PROVO MTC

What's up everybody!!! A lot has happened in the past couple weeks but it's hard to remember everything that happened so I’m going to try my best! This past week I became a Zone Leader! I honestly still have no clue what that really means except I am basically over about 7 or 8 other districts which are about 70 or 80 missionaries. 50 of those missionaries come today so wish me luck because I have to meet all of them tonight. I think it's a little bit crazy that I became a zone leader after only a week and a half but I will figure it out hopefully.

We also started immersion this week which means that in our classes we speak only Czech. I’m not going to lie, it's rough, but it's helping me learn so much quicker than I thought I could learn the language. I have a good feeling that I will be able to learn the language by the end of the MTC but I’ve got a long way to go.

A funny story that happened to me this past week was that we did baptisms in the temple one of the days. Me and my companion Elder Rowe disagree on this story, so I'm going to share with you my side of the story. I started off by baptizing Elder Rowe and I have probably baptized over 50 people in my life so I'm pretty much a pro. As I finished saying the baptism prayer I put my hand down to baptize my companion and the dude launched into the water. I was so confused and I thought that he normally just goes quickly so I didn’t question it. For the next few names he did the same thing and basically baptized himself and made somewhat of a splash while doing it. Then it was my turn… Apparently Elder Rowe felt like I was throwing him into the font instead of baptizing him. He had the bright idea that he was going to get revenge and throw me into the font and was definitely not ready for it. As he finished the prayer I didn’t even have time to hold my nose and I was in and out of the water before I could even process it. I had that feeling of when water goes up your nose and it stings, it's a terrible feeling, but I looked around and everybody’s jaws dropped. I looked around and saw that all the glass around the font was soaked from me or I could say Elder Rowe, but the entire room started dying laughing and even the missionaries were waiting in the waiting room. It was super embarrassing.

We got 4 new roommates this past week and they are super cool. On the second day they were here one of them hurt his leg and had to go to the hospital all day. I felt bad for the guy and now he walks around with crutches everywhere. They leave next week, but we have some of the dumbest and funniest conversations every night so I’m low key gonna miss them.

BUT me and Elder Rowe will get the room to ourselves again so that will be more relaxing.

The lines to get lunch and dinner at the MTC are the longest lines and it sucks. I'm basically just living off of chocolate milk and the snacks my mom sent me because waiting in line for an hour to get food that doesn’t taste good is not the move. It was so bad on Sunday that I ended up just getting fruit loops for dinner because all the other cereal was gone. I went to get milk but all the milk was gone too. I ended up eating fruit loops with chocolate milk in them and then had a cup of chocolate milk to go with it. Life is going great!

I’ll end this email with a good scripture that I’ve been thinking about a lot this past week. Ether 12: 27 “And if men come unto me I will show unto them their aweakness. I bgive unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my cgrace is sufficient for all men that dhumble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make eweak things become strong unto them.” This scripture has been on my mind a lot as I’ve been trying to learn Czech. If I humble myself before God and have faith in him, he can make my weak things become strong. I am putting all my faith in God for the next 2 years and I know that when I do that he will find small and simple things to help me out.

I love all of you guys and make sure to email me or message me on facebook throughout the week!!

Last thing, Bailey wanted me to let you guys all know that she got up for the first time on wakesurfing and it's one of the biggest accomplishments in her life, so everybody should send her a little message congratulating her! She would really appreciate it.
