LAST DAY IN AMERICA

LAST DAY IN AMERICA!! I am officially leaving the MTC tmr morning and I'm so excited. I've loved the MTC and I've learned so much from being here but I've been ready to leave for a couple weeks now haha. Tmr morning at 8:30 I'm leaving the mtc and hopping on a bus. After the bus I'm getting on a tram and getting off of that tram to get on another one. Low key I don't know how my district will find our way to the airport but I'm not terrible with directions so we will find a way. When we get to the airport our first flight leaves at 3 and we are heading straight to the NETHERLANDS!! It's so sick, especially since I've never been to Europe, but it is gonna be a pretty long flight. Once we get to the airport we have a 3 hour layover and then fly straight to Prague and get there at like 2 in the afternoon on Friday. So it'll be a long travel day but that's fine.

We had our last actual class on Friday night and it was kinda weird. We are like actually leaving this place, but it was super sad to say bye to some of our teachers. We have gotten so close to them and my favorite part of the mtc has been the times I spent in class with my district and teachers. My teachers have made the mtc such a good experience and have helped us so much with the language and just how to be better missionaries and better people. They are the best, I'm really gonna miss them.

These past 8 weeks I've made so many new lifelong friends and met so many amazing people. One of the coolest elders I met is in the ASL district and I've gotten super close with him over the past few weeks. He is completely deaf but has hearing aids so he can hear everything I'm saying which is cool. I've never met somebody so good at dapping people up. A couple days ago me and him had 7 of the cleanest dapps I've ever heard in my life and I'm not sure if he could even hear them but he's a dash I love him. He's also serving in Mesa Arizona so if you ever see an elder hill tell him I said hi.

Our teachers thought it would be cool to guess where all of us would be for our first transfer in czech. We don't tell the teachers where the other teachers said we were going because we want it to be completely random. Every single time we've done this I've gotten the city of Brno. Apparently I'm just meant to go there so we will see if that's actually right. Apparently they speak a lot of English there so that would be nice but I wouldn't really learn the language as fast as anybody else so idk how I feel about that.
I got a haircut this week and usually when you get a haircut here they spend like less then minutes per elder and you kinda just hope it looks good. Well when I got a haircut she spent about like 15 minutes making sure it looked good before it left and she even told me that my eyebrows were "too puffy" so she trimmed those for me. It was kinda sick cause I can't tell a difference but she said they look a lot better now.

I think my favorite part of conference was when they were announcing temples. I've gotten to be super close with my branch President and his wife these past several weeks. They were mission presidents in Mongolia a few years ago. So when they announced the Mongolia temple as the very last temple, it was the coolest feeling ever and we were all so excited. They were also sitting directly behind me during conference and they both just burst out into tears. It's a moment I will never forget!

We had a devotional last night be president freeman who spoke in General conference this past weekend. If any of you watched conference, in her talk she said that when she was in Jerusalem she had a rope tied to a scooter so that she could get around the city. Well in the devo last night she showed us a video of that and it was actually really funny but she said that video isn't going anywhere so ig I'm the only one lucky enough to see it. In the devotional her husband who is a bishop also spoke to us. My favorite thing he said was "stay green". In the mission field when you first get there you are known as a greenie. His message to us was to stay as excited for missionary work throughout your entire mission exactly like how excited all of us at the mtc are to finally get to the field.

One of my favorite talks during general conference was President Eyring's talk about the holy ghost. One thing that he said really stood out to me and it was something along the lines of "you need to want the holy ghost for the right reasons, don't be selfish". In the mtc we focus a lot on how the spirit prompts us and how we can use it to spread the gospel. I loved this quote because a lot of times we want the holy ghost to answer our questions. But on the mission I need to use the holy ghost to help others with my service or just to be a blessing in their life. This has been a pretty long email so I'll end it right her but my next email I'm sure will be full of a lot of cool stories.

Love all you guys!! I'm not sure if I'll be able to use messenger out on my mission so send me an email @hayden....@missionary.org
