6th Week In Prague

This was my favorite week of being a missionary by far! I thought I could try to make my emails shorter but we will see how it goes. I had some pretty cool experiences this week and want to share some of the coolest ones.

I'll just start with last Monday. I had the opportunity to give my guy Tadeas the melchizedek priesthood. He is a recent convert of IDK how many years but we have grown super close over the last month and a half. The coolest part is, this guy visited our mtc class while I was in the MTC. I didn't know it then but we have grown super close and it was a super sweet experience.

Me and my comp gave a fire skills seminar lesson over zoom to the entire mission. I was stressing about the call for a few days but it was great. We taught about contacting on metros and trams while traveling. It's super cool to see how far I've come because now talking to people is getting way more comfortable and that's just something I do now. I get on a tram and look for somebody to talk to right away and it gives me some pretty cool experiences and also some experiences I want to forget right away haha. I've had the most awkward conversations of my life on those metros, it's horrible but it's all part of being a missionary.

Friday morning I had special permission to call Coach Grover (my volleyball coach) and he was not expecting it at all. I got to talk to him for a little bit even though it was super late in AZ when I called him. He doesn't sleep tho so it's ok. BUT I got to call him cause I had to do service that day. My service was teaching 10 girls my little sisters age volleyball for 4 hours. It was the best service of my life haha. I played volleyball for 4 hours on a womens net and it was the greatest moment of my life. At one point Elder Wagner gave me a beautiful set right on the net and I almost killed the Mission President's daughter haha. That was the last time I got to hit from the front row the entire day. President Skouzen’s wife banned me from the front row but it was still pretty fun.

I'll end with the coolest contacting I've ever done on my mission. For the past 3 weeks until Mission Conference (which is in like 2 days) our mission had a goal to hand out 500 Book of Mormons. That goal probably sounds super easy for all the other missionaries out there but I'm telling you, nobody wants to learn from us out here. It's brutal. But on Saturday night our zone did something called a “miracle hour” which means that from 6-7 on saturday night the whole zone went out contacting in their own areas. Me, my comp and the APs in our mission all went contacting together. We had a big backpack thing and took about 30 BoM in it and headed out to a popular part of Prague. In a span of two hours we all split up and talked to as many people as we could in the area and we gave out 15 BoM’s and I handed out 6 just by myself. It was the coolest thing ever and I really hope that it will change some of their lives. Ill talk about one specific experience. I talked to this 45 year old dude from Mexico and we talked for about 5 minutes and then he said he had to go get food for his family so he had to go. I ended by telling him how much god loves him and that no matter what god is always there for him. He looked at me and shook my hand and said thank you so much but then he was off to get food. 20 minutes later us 4 missionaries got back together after talking to our own people. I looked inside the big bag and saw a Spanish BoM. We are in the Czech Republic, why the crap do we have a spanish BoM haha. But I told them that I had to go give this dude a Book of Mormon somewhere. They all laughed and were like ok go get the man. I was like bet and then sprinted into the mall. But I had no clue where to go. I looked at them and asked where this dude would buy food. We went to a grocery store and I looked around for 5 minutes and we walked out and he was paying for all his groceries and if we were 30 seconds later, the dude would have been long gone. It was so cool, I got to give a super powerful testimony and hand him the book and he was super grateful for it and we exchanged numbers. When this guy goes back to Mexico City and Elder Eaton baptizes him, I just want you to know that I gave him that BoM.

I don’t think that I'll ever be able to write a short email so I’m sorry haha. Maybe just skip to the parts that look interesting to you. But I love you guys and hope you're all doing great wherever you are in the world! Have a great week!
