1st Transfer

I'm staying in Prague for 3 more months! My first transfer is over and now I'm staying here for 3 more months! It's going to be so cool to be in Prague for Christmas and I'm super excited. This has actually been the longest week of my life but it's been maybe the best week of my mission. I will definitely say I've never been so tired in my life haha

I'll start where I left off last week. We read the Book of Mormon from Sunday at 1 until Tuesday at 3. It was such a cool experience and I have such a strong testimony that the book is true. It also was so much fun just being with my district for 3 straight days. I never thought i could sit down for such a long time because I hate reading haha. There's just something different about the Book of Mormon, because there was not one second where I felt like putting the book down or felt tired. That's crazy to me but it was such a cool experience. Now this is my challenge to all of you guys, READ THE BOOK OF MORMON. You will know it's true if you prayerfully read it! I promise!

Wednesday was my last day with Elder Konushin and we had a solid day. We had a lesson with our guy Peter and Konushin said bye to him and then we had a member meal at the Bishop's house. We had some pumpkin sausage pasta, it was super interesting but tasted really good actually. After that, my week was so hectic and crazy haha. That night my MTC comp Elder Rowe and his comp elder Dorr stayed the night and it was sick. We talked for a while and it was so good to catch up with them.

That next day I was comps with Elder Rowe the entire day and it was great. We went contacting for about 2 hours together in the morning and it was lit haha. 2 guys that can barely speak the language together, roaming Prague but we actually found some pretty cool people. It's also insane to see our progress we have made in the past 9 weeks. It may not seem like we are getting better at the moment, but we have made some insane improvements in our language. Throughout the day we were with so many other elders because everybody comes to Prague to meet up with their new comps. I think I was on the streets contacting for 7 hours in one day. I was gassed after but it was so much fun contacting with like 10 different elders. I also got to go to dinner with Elder Rowe, Hinckley and Nelson and we just got to catch up for a while. This week was just a lot of fun times with people I haven't seen in a while. The next day I was comps with Hinckley for the whole day and it was the same type of thing. We had a ton of fun and worked really hard the whole day.

This week was the first week in my life where I have seen the Gift of Tongues kick in and start working. The whole last transfer I never saw a moment where I was like, “that was the Gift of Tongues”. I think it's because Konushin was a walking google translator for 4 different languages haha. This week I saw the biggest jump in my language and it's insane how much it got better in just a few days. The entire last transfer I wasn’t able to call anybody because I had no clue what they were saying. This week I called 15 people in a span of like an hour and a half and 13 of them picked up. I was able to have a conversation with all of them without like any help and set up some lessons for the week. It was so crazy to me how God just basically knew I needed help next transfer so he blessed me with being better at the language. I'm saying all of this right now and right after I send out this email, my Czech is going to be the worst it's ever been haha. We will see how I do this next week and then I will know for sure how blessed I am.

Now time to talk about my new Comp cause I know my parents have been stressing about this for like the past week and a half hahah. I love my comp, we are getting along so well and this transfer is going to be amazing. But he's also pretty quiet and doesn't really talk to too many people. But we are gonna change that this transfer! I went from maybe talking like 10 percent of the time and I knew like no czech and now i'm talking like 75 percent of the time and having to do a lot more. It's going to be a huge learning experience for me and it's also going to be so much fun at the same time cause the dude is so cool. It's also crazy because he only got here one transfer before me so we both already don't know too much Czech to begin with. Also THIS TRANSFER IS 15 WEEKS. I don't know how it's going to work but they switched czech from a 9 week language to a 15 week language so it kinda screwed up our transfers here, But like I'm not complaining because i get to stay in prague with a goated comp and district so it's going to be so much fun!

I'll just end by saying that God is your Loving Heavenly Father. You guys probably think that's obvious but the people here in Czechia don't know that and it's so sad. It's crazy to think that so many people here don't know why they are here or that they have a best friend who is their loving Heavenly Father. I'm so happy that I have that knowledge and that I can spread it to the very few people here that want to listen. I know there are people here that need the gospel in their life and that's why I am here. I just need to find those people and that's the hard part haha.

I love you guys and hope this Christmas season is the best one yet!
