Baller Week
Christmas in Prague is insane and way different than anything I've ever seen. Last P day we visited some of the coolest christmas markets ever. It's almost like I'm living in a movie or like what you would imagine a movie to be like. It's so freaking cool. They have huge Christmas trees and have some crazy good Czech food.
I low key don't know where I'm going to go with this email because so many random and fun things happened this week and the mission is the best during Christmas time! Last p day we also went ice skating and i can fs say that I've gotten better since the last time I went. That's not saying too much tho cause im terrible, it was still a good time. I've got a new district and they are all so cool. I've been blessed to be around some of the best missionaries these past several months and they've taught me so much.
The next day we did service for some dudes in our ward and it was a lot of fun. I don't know why but other missionaries would probably say the same thing, but doing service is maybe my favorite part of missionary work. We spent some time moving a bunch of crap from a guy's basement, into the church's basement and it was pretty fun. He also fed us some food after and we ended up getting home a lot later then we should have haha. I also talked to a dude on the metro that night and he pulled out a police badge and handed it to me. It was litty, now I've got a Prague police badge sitting on my study table. The dude was super cool, but not interested unfortunately.
On Wednesday we had a super good lesson with one of our friends, and he is set on getting baptized in March which is super exciting! The only unfortunate part is that I probably won't be here anymore in March but who knows. We also spent 3 hours that day helping a member buy a bunch of presents for poorer families in our ward. I also got tasked in wrapping a bunch of the presents. Shout out to Coach Fazio and our basketball service project every Christmas cause it really clutched up this week. My wrapping skills were low key insane.
Thursday we helped another member get some presents and we spent like 3 straight hours talking in Czech and it definitely helped me out a lot. Then he hopped in with us for a lesson and it was super good to have him there. He honestly didn't say too much in the lesson but he helped us whenever our czech gave us some problems which was basically every 3 seconds haha. We are learning tho it's going great!
Friday was a weird day because I was comps with Elder Rowe (my mtc comp) for like 2 hours while some weird transfers were happening. He hopped in on a lesson with us in Czech and it went really well. We have 3 friends right now that are super promising and its really exciting. To put it in perspective, in 2022 our mission had 24 or so baptisms. This year my mission had like 48 baptisms. So it's a big deal to even have one person ready to be baptized so it's crazy exciting right now.
Two new missionaries from England came in on Saturday and I was on exchanges with the APs and was with Elder Wagner all day. Bro is such a cool guy and plays basketball and volleyball and is from Vegas. He's a stud so it was a lot of fun hanging with him all day. He was in my other district so we know each other pretty well already. We had some of the most fire lessons I've ever been a part of. We met with this new guy that had so many questions and we answered all of them just by talking through the Restoration with him. I felt the spirit so strong and it was such a cool feeling. The amount of difference i've seen in my teaching just in two months is crazy. I feel like every lesson the holy ghost is just guiding me with what to say and im speaking with confidence that I have never had before. Its such a cool feeling.
That's pretty much my week, nothing too crazy or funny but it was a lot of fun and lots of hard work every day. This is the first time on my mission I fell asleep during Sacrament and I have a feeling it won't be the last time haha. This mission thing is exhausting but so freaking worth it. I've gone through some super hard times and some rough days but looking back on it, I'm so glad all those things happened. I hate going through it at the moment but I've seen such a difference from the start of my mission until now. And I've still got 20 more months left! Ill end with a quick scripture I shared in a lesson me and Elder Wagner had with another dude on our exchange and many of you might know it cause it's a solid scripture.
3 Nephi 31:19-20
And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow apath, I would ask if all is bdone? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken cfaith in him, drelying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to esave.
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a asteadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of bhope, and a clove of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and dendure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eeternal life.
No matter how much I learn on my mission or however strong my testimony is, we always need to strive to endure to the end every day. Building our testimony everyday is such an important part of the gospel.
I love all you guys and I hope you all have a baller week! Also my emails are probably never gonna be short but that's chill.
