Čbud, Nové Město
My first week in Čbud was really long and slow but also pretty good at the same time. Its gonna take me a few weeks to get used to my new area. Its so much different and was low key really hard when I first got here. It's gotten a lot better now and we are working really hard so it's exciting.
It was crazy cause on p day I usually see about 10 other missionaries and hang out with them all day but I couldn't do that this past week. We chilled by ourselves because the closest missionaries are 2 hours away. We went to a castle and it was closed so that was a bummer but it was a chill day.
Tuesday we had a really good first restoration lesson with a new friend. We don't know how interested she is but it was cool to see how I can finally teach a pretty solid lesson in czech. Its taken about 6 months but I'm seeing a lot of progress and studying harder than I've ever studied haha. We are working super hard With inactive members here. We have about 10 active members every week that come to church. We have about 5 or 6 inactive member lessons throughout the week and we are trying really hard to get them all back to church. This one dude on Tuesday night was funny tho. We taught him a solid lesson on the gospel of Jesus christ and how it's important to endure to the end. Right before we said the closing prayer he asked me, “ what do you guys think about smoking, because i think we should be able to smoke”. I can't really express myself in czech To well but I kinda went on for a bit on how he needs to stop smoking and how we can take all of his cigarettes and throw them away for him. He gave me a fat no but we are homies now so that's good.
We had DC 2 hours away so that was pretty cool. Saturday we went to another inactive members home who hasn't been to church in about 3 years. It was about an hour travel. We had no clue who he was but he was a 19 year old dude with his like grandpa or something who is about 80 somethin. Nobody has talked to these people in forever and it was a really good lesson to try to get them back to church. They said they would come but didn't so that was sad. My MTC teacher brother Thomas actually baptized this dude, so if you read this whole thing brother Thomas, his name is Pavel Chadim. He a dawg.
That's about it for this week. Ill end with a quick little spiritual thought. Alma 38:9 “And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness.” One of my favorite things in scriptures is when it says that Jesus Christ Is the light and life of the world. Every day I tell people that I am here in the Czech Republic to spread the light into their lives. They never really believe me and always tell me no haha, but i really do know that this gospel Is the light. I know we can receive pure joy through the life and light of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that i have been able to grow up in this gospel! It is truly such an amazing blessing that I probably have taken advantage of sometimes.
That's all I got today, but miss all you guys and hope your doing great!! Have a fire week!
