Broken Car, Prague ×2

This week was absolutely packed with highs and lows. This is going to be a really long email so I apologize in advance. I have a lot of extra time today so i'm gonna write quite a bit. Some pretty cool stories tho if you skip down a bit. It was crazy and I'm low key exhausted but I'll just get right into it.
Monday we had a lit pday. P days are a lot different in this area cause we are always just by ourselves haha. I used to spend every p day with 6 or 8 other missionaries and now it's just me and my comp going to some cool castles in the middle of nowhere. This past p day It was a really cool castle and it was insanely pretty. It was super nice to just like chill, it's super pretty here in the spring time so it was incredible.

Tuesday was a straight up GRIND. Our day was completely empty except for a member meal at 7 at night. I was praying for some type of miracle cause i knew it was gonna be a really rough day haha. We contacted on the streets for about 4 hours and got about 6 contacts. As of now all of those people either blocked us or won't respond but in the moment it felt like some pretty big blessings haha. We were about to go outside again at like 4:30 for another hour. I told my comp that we need to have a lot of faith for that block or it was gonna be brutal. We said our prayer and opened the door and I got a call. This random dude that we've been trying to have a lesson with for the past 3 weeks called and said he's waiting for us at the town square. I don't know if it was a coincidence or a blessing but we had a really good lesson. He was pretty interested so we will see what happens.

On Wednesday our mission pulled up for interviews and so that was super fire. Our interviews were about an hour and a half and than He took us to lunch. It was great to talk with him and just hear About his normal life. Bro has some crazy military stories and can't share about 90 percent of them. Super cool. He also gave us a car… the car was more of a pain than a help low key.

Thursday was pretty normal. Some pretty random stuff. A senior couple pulled up to cbud and took us out for lunch. Pretty solid. After English class a new dude we met invited us to the bar. He bought us drinks and we were like, sorry but we can't drink alcohol. It said it wasn't alcohol but bro was super sus. He said it was just apple juice and it turns out it really just was apple juice. It was a fun and interesting time.
Friday we drove to Prague in our new car. I got invited To join the choir. Apparently I'm one of the top 4 “tenor” singers in the czech Republic. That's kinda cool and I'm glad they have confidence in me cause it was pretty bad. I tried my best tho. The first ever stake center in the Czech Republic had its groundbreaking So it was a really big deal. Saw a lot of cool missionaries there so it was lit. Then we drove back home. I was driving on one of the prettiest roads of my life. It was super green and next to some little cliffs the whole time. There were some cars driving like 130mph right past us and I thought we were gonna die but it was a lot of fun. We got some gas. I was mad confused on which one to get because I couldn't understand what they were saying. My comp said “whatever you do, don't get the green one”. The black one didn't really fit in the gas tank. I was like bruh, the Czech Republic is weird and just started filling it up anyways. We got back on the road and we're enjoying life but the car started Making some really weird noises. Then it wouldn't go when I pressed the gas. I pulled over on the freeway and called the APs. We told them the situation and they were like “yeah you may have just put diesel in the car on accident”. It was rough and we were stuck on the road for the next hour or two. It was an insane sunset tho. We made some cops, traffic, and towing dudes days by talking with them. We finally made it home a couple hours after that. Rough night to be honest.

Saturday we had the opportunity to go to an inactive dudes cottage. I love this bro but he's crazy. Hes like a 80 year old dude that is missing a thumb and has the raspiest voice ever from smoking so much haha. We can't really understand him too much but we are tight. Bro got baptized 10 years ago and decided that he's going to break almost all of the word of Wisdom but that's alright. We are trying to help him get back on track. That was a great time. It was super pretty over there. Apparently missionaries have never been to the towns around there cause everybody we tried talking to thought we were JWs. They actually wanted to talk with us even though almost all of them were crazy drunk.

Sunday we went back to Prague again for Stake Conference cause I sang in that also. We pulled up and the choir chorister, sister Minarchik, asked if I was ready. I said yeah but then i asked her which songs we were singing and she wasn't too happy haha. I was supposed to practice on my own the past 3 weeks. There's no way I'm gonna sit in my apartment and sing by myself, but it actually went good. I also understood like 70 percent of stake conference so that was a cool little miracle right there. A rough part of that was saying bye to Elder Wagner. We were in prague the past 6 months and were together pretty much every day. I look up to that dude a lot and so I'm gonna miss that man. Low key may have shed a tear or two, it was goofy but he's taught me a lot. I Said hi to all of the Prague members and dipped home. Fire week and good job if you read this whole thing cause I definitely wouldn't have. I know at least my mom, dad and grandparents will read this haha.

I'm gonna end with a verse that has been on my mind lately. I've seen it In a couple missionary's emails, general conference, and our ZLs shared it with me again yesterday so it really stood out. It's D&C 84:88 “And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.”
This really touched me and I've been thinking about it a lot. It's amazing to think about this when I'm roaming the streets of this city. Sometimes it can feel like me and my comp are straight up getting flamed on a saturday when nobody will say hi back to us. Or just one of those long contacting days in the middle of the week. But this verse helps me think about all of my ancestors, and all those angels surrounding us and walking with us during those hard times. They are really there with us, even if it doesn't seem like it. I've really learned that you are never alone no matter where you are. The lord is always with us on our right hands and on or left. Our grandparents and great grandparents are here with us. And When we are obedient and choosing the right, the holy ghost is there to comfort us. All of these things are so important! I hope that this helps somebody that is reading this and I'll end with that.

Love you guys! Send me an email cause I have a lot of time to respond now haha. I would really appreciate it!!
