Martíns Baptism
Alright my last couple emails have been pretty boring and depressing so I'm gonna only talk about the good things of this week! This is about to sound like the best week of my life!
Monday we has such an awesome Pday. I got to go back to my home in Prague and have a whole zone pday of just sports. Dang it was so refreshing and was an awesome start the week! So many cool missionaries and a lot of fun playing sports. And then right when we got to cbud we went to a member meal and that was our day. Such a W day!
Tuesday i made it a goal to be as positive as possible all day and it helped with finding joy so that was pretty great. We went door to door contacting and dang the grandmas were not nice haha. We only got to about 50 doors in our contacting block and people weren't in very good moods. I thought it was a lot of fun tho.
On Wednesday The senior couple from like 2 hours away came down to our area for some various reasons but I loved it. I got to have some amazing convos and they also ended up giving us some ice cream and lunch. They spoiled us and I was so grateful.
We had an awesome lesson with one of our friends on Thursday. I told her that one of my friends was getting baptized in Prague and she was like, wait I want to get baptized. Me and my comp looked at each other and wete just like bruh, alr bet haha. So we are gonna find a good date next lesson. She wants to get baptized this week but she's got a lot to learn low key so it'll be in about a month if everything goes well. Pretty big miracle right there cause we dropped our other friend that was on Bap date.
Ill skip past Friday and go to Saturday! This day was such a good day. I found out on Tuesday from my old comp that our friend was getting baptized on Saturday. My mission prez said i could go so we pulled up and it was so cool. We extended the bap date to him in like February or march and he actually hit the date which is so cool. He went from not believing in God to now being baptized, it was such an incredible day. He's been getting taught for probably over a year so it's been a long time waiting but it was pretty awesome. Also got to see my guy Tadeáš from back in Prague. When bro so me he ran to me and so I dapped him up and he was so excited to see me that he literally picked me up off the ground with a fat hug. It was pretty funny.
I'll share a quick funny story from Sunday at church. So we got this like 90 year old dude that teaches our Sunday school every other week. He is super hard to understand because he's got this one tooth sticking out right in the front of his mouth and he's also 90 so that's rough just in itself. Well this bro only comes to church when he gets to teach, and teaching is literally his life. He showed up half way through sacrament so he missed the bread but got the water. After the meeting I was cleaning up sacrament and he walks up to me, smiles, and then snorts a little bit and then eats a piece of bread. I was trying so hard not to laugh it was hilarious. Then I looked at another member and was like "i don't think the sacrament works like that??" And she started laughing and told me, "if he believes it works, that's all that matters." Then this dude proceeded to give one of the worst Sunday school lessons of my life and the branch president told us he's releasing him from the Calling. So I might never see this man again. That's my story for you guys haha.
I've been reading a lot of the doctrine and covenants lately and these verses were super good! D&C 29:4-7 "Verily, I say unto you that ye are chosen out of the world to declare my gospel with the sound of rejoicing, as with the voice of a trump.
5 Lift up your hearts and be glad, for I am in your midst, and am your advocate with the Father; and it is his good will to give you the kingdom.
6 And, as it is written—Whatsoever ye shall ask in faith, being united in prayer according to my command, ye shall receive.
7 And ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect; for mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts;"
This gave me a lot of motivation this week. So of you are lacking some motivation just read these scriptures, and this whole chapter and you'll find it.
Anyways, love you guys! Thanks for reading this whole email and send me an email if you have some time!
