Kuba A Fam
Whats up!! This week was a solid week with a couple pretty cool things.
First, we had interviews with president skousen so we traveled to the other elder area for that. That was a good time and the interview was great. Something that was super crazy cool was right when we were leaving and president and sister skousen were going to drive us home. Me, Elder Hinckley and president skousen were all chillin in the car starting to drive away and sister skousen was still outside. We saw her yelling at these like 6 philipino dudes in their backyard like 30 meters away. We all thought it was pretty funny and cool, and then she gets in the car and was like they want to come to church and stuff. Pretty much me and my comp went with her and got all their numbers and stuff and it was super cool to see her do that. They ended up running into some anti, but one of them actually brought his friend to church and apparently they are both super cool and interested so that was a little miracle of the week.
Also we were able to have a member meal with a family in our ward that have an 11 and 8 year old boy. They are the funniest kids ever, idk why but when kids speak in czech anything they say just makes them sound hilarious. They have a lot of energy and it was a good time. We were also able to share a spiritual thought about baptism with for the 8 year old Kuba because he was baptised 2 days later on Saturday. He was supposed to get baptized in May but he's like terrified of water so it got pushed back to know. Bro is a stud tho and the baptism was amazing. The mom of the family was a convert at age 19 and the rest of her family soon joined after her and now her brother is part of the stake Presidency (I'm pretty sure) but they were all there and it was amazing. It was incredible to see how meaningful the baptism of Kuba was to all of the family and how much the gospel means to them. I can't even imagine the joy that comes from baptizing your children but I know it's amazing. Super spiritual and glad I was able to witness that and be there.
Other than that, it was a pretty normal week.
For my spiritual thought i wanted to share something that I've been thinking about recently. At the beginning of the year our mission set a goal of 84 baptisms in the year, it was going to be a crazy grind and a lot of hard work but we knew it was possible especially with the help from Heveanly Father. Right now our mission is at 36/84, and it can be really easy to think that it's impossible to reach that goal. But I've been thinking about a few verses from Luke 5, with the story of Simon fishing before he met Jesus.
Luke 5: 5-6, "5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake." I feel like this story really makes me think about how this year has been going for our mission but I know that we are going to see some incredible miracles. I know that anything is possible with the power of Heavenly Father when we give it our all and trust in him. If it is in his will, then he will make it possible and bless us in our life. I truly can't wait to see the miracles during the next few months and throughout the rest of my life just by trusting God and his power in our own lives.
Hava another great week! Miss you all!
