Czech Children

This week was pretty solid. Theres honestly like nothing happening here in our area haha. We are working hard and smart and doing our best but these people are just crazy and brutal up to this point. Super excited to see what miracles this week holds tho. I'm gonna share 2 miracles/tender mercies from this week.
The first one was pretty much the only lesson we had this week and it was with a ukrainian man named Bohdan. We talked to this man on the street about 5 weeks ago and we shared about the book of mormon and he asked if it was free, so we said yes and he took the Book out of my hand haha. We told him we had a ukrainian but he said it's ok, and he took the czech one. I genuinely don't think he understands a single word in the book, but it was enough i guess. We met with him a couple days later and it was honestly super hard to understand him, he speaks about 50 percent czech and 50 percent ukrainian. We had that first lesson a long time ago and gave him a ukrainin Book of Mormon and didn't understand him very well but it was fine. After about 5 weeks of texting him and trying to meet with him we were finally able to meet this week. It was a miracle because we were able to understand everything he said like pretty perfectly! Elder Hinckley pulled out a restoration pamphlet and showed him a picture of Joseph Smith, and instantly Bohdan was like, that's true! We were shocked haha. His mom was there as well and she kept trying to say things to prove us wrong but he kept saying no to her and that it is true. Amazing lesson, hes just super hard to meet with so we will see what happens. 
The other tender mercies were with the czech kids this week. We played soccer on friday with the only 2 priests from our branch and there were 4 other 10-12 year old czech kids. They wanted to play us in a 4on4 and so that's what we did. We didn't go easy on them at all and abosulety destroyed them and it was a lot of fun haha. They were a bunch of absolute studs tho. The other things that happened is that me and my comp were contacting in another city on Saturday and we walked up to a dad with his twin 7 year old boys and probably a 9 year old girl. I told the dad that we share a message about joy and Jesus Christ and instantly when I said that one of the boys came and hugged me for like 10 seconds and the other brother followed him and hugged elder Hinckley for like 30 seconds haha. The dad responded with a no and we asked him a few more questions. Nothing crazy happened. And then we said something along the lines of, we know that God loves you and we would love to share the message, then the little boy came back and hugged both of us at the same time. It was honestly really cool, i don't know if the boys felt the Spirit, wanted to share joy with us by hugging us, or just simply love to hug people, but I know that it had to have touched the heart of the dad in some sort of way, even tho they weren't interested at that moment.

Dang this was such a normal week, but I'll try to make this interesting. Monday we had a district p day which was awesome. I used to have those every week in Prague, I definitely miss those days haha. But we went to one of the prettiest places in the country, it was literally a fairy tale land. But it was an awesome day and gave us some energy for the long week we had. We ended that day with some street contacting, picking up elder Rowes wallet from the train station cause he lost it, and then killing around 15 spiders that have been lurking in our church building for probably the past 5 years.  Tuesday was a completely normal day, we visited an inactive member and she said she's definitely not going to come back to church. Kinda unfortunate.  Wednesday was the first day of my mission that I have ever gone door to door contacting. It was actually a lot of fun but dang nobody wanted to talk with us. This is actually going to be such a short email cause I don't feel really good, but this week was so awesome. Pretty much the first half of the week was pretty great, normal missionary work. We were able to teach a couple lessons and talk with lots of people. Good stuff. Thursday we went to the other elders area and I ran an exchange with my old comp from Prague elder Lawrence. That was a good time and good to be back together. The exchange was pretty great. That next day I had my last VISA appointment in Prague and now I have my visa which is good. Elder Hinckley still has 2 more so we will be going back again very soon. Pretty bad timing but its alr.  The best part of the week was that i was able to return to CBUD for a baptism of one of our friends that I was able to teach before i left. She is so amazing, already has the strongest testimony! She has some family members in the church so she has been reading the Book of mormon a little bit over the past couple years. One day she ...

Week 88 Or Something As A Missionary

Whats up everybody! This week was really awesome! It started off with a lot of late nights preparing for ZC and some other things, but it was a lot of fun.  It's been a crazy past couple of weeks. As a mission, we always have a monthly focus. Througout our MLC about a month ago, we counciled about things and decided that the best monthly focus for our mission would be, "Confidence and Christ". We were planning a lot of things, even as we were preparing for a zone conference, we were completely focusing on how to grow in our confidence in Christ. Then as we watched General Conference, President Nelsons talk was titled, "Confidence in the Presence of God". It was such an incredible feeling, knowing that our mission is focusing exactly on what the Prophet feels need to share with us.  Zone Conference went great, all the trainings and thoughts were all focused on growing our confidence through charity and Virtue and how to apply it directly into missionary work.
