My Comp's A Beast
Whats up! This week was awesome! I had a great exchange with elder olson and Monday and Tuesday! It was good to run it back with him.
We've been facing a bit of opposition towards the end of the week. Petr passed his interview and everything and was looking super good for his baptism. On sunday morning he texted us and said that he broke his knee and was headed to the hospital and we haven't heard from him since. It was pretty sad, so that will delay his baptism for a little while. He's doing great spiritually tho! One of our new members also texted us on Friday evening and said that he was headed to the hospital and that was all the info we got, so we haven't heard from him either.
The good stuff tho is that Friday was one of the greatest days ever! We got to spend the entire day with our new mission leaders the Evertons! They are incredible! They are some of the most amazing people I have ever met, and I learned soo much from them just in a day. While they were visiting us, we had 3 incredible lessons throughout the day and the spirit was soo present. One of our friends was telling us a lot about some struggles in his life, and we were able to show him the power of the priesthood and give him a blessing.
While we were on an exchange, my comp elder Ballstaedt talked to a kid that dropped us a couple of weeks ago. His name is Simon and he is one of the most prepared kids I have ever met. He found God about 6 months ago and changed his entire life around the past couple of months. As my comp talked with him, they set up another lesson and we had the greatest lesson ever with him on Friday. At the end of the lesson President Everton walked into the room and sat down and immediately started baring testimony. It was exactly what we had just been teaching and promising Simon and it was soo cool.
"Coincidence is not an appropriate word to describe the workings of an omniscient God. He does not do things by ‘coincidence’ but … by ‘divine design.’” Our lives are like a chessboard, and the Lord moves us from one place to another—if we are responsive to spiritual promptings. Looking back, we can see His hand in our lives." I loved this quote from elder rasband in his talk divine design. God guides us in our lives when we pay attention and act on the promptings of the Spirit. The part that I thought was cool, is that we need to review and reflect. That is how we can see the hand of the lord in our lives. Throughout my mission, as i have taken 5-10 minutes to ponder and journal at the end of each day, I have noticed how God works through me to help others come closer to him. While pondering I've also received promptings from the spirit of what i can change and improve. The spirit truly does work through us.
I love you all and have another great week! Miss you all!
