Romanians
Today we have a conference with the young men's general president, Elder Lund, so my pday got switched from next Monday to today.
It's been 3 days since my last email but some super cool things have happened. I went back to Mladá boleslav on Wednesday and had a really good time there with my old companion. We actually talked to a lot of really cool people and it was awesome. I also learned a lot about the power of promising blessings and how much that changes a conversation.
The last two days in Plzeň have been super good! It feels like things are starting to pick up speed again and it's awesome! Earlier this week we were contacting and I talked with a kid. He was super cool and I've talked with him before. He didn't have interest but i asked if he knew anybody that did. He gave us his friends number and so we called him and set up a lesson with his friend. His friend showed up to the lesson and It was incredible. We were able to talk all about the gospel of Jesus christ and how important baptism is. We asked him if he wanted to be baptized and he said he wants to but he needs to talk with his parents first. We found out that he was 14 years old after the lesson, he's a beast tho.
Friday was also full of blessings. We put our friend from Romania on baptismal date for August 2nd. He is such a cool guy and he's going through a lot right now. He really wants to be baptized and is willing to do a lot to get there. We are praying that he will be able to make his date and that all will go great!
The last thing I wanted to talked about is our new friend Viktor. We were contacting on the namesti on Thursday and talked with a guy from Romania. He immediately said he had no interest and was walking away. We kept talking with him and asking him questions. We talked with him about the power of repentance and he asked us if we really believe that he can be forgiven and change his life. We had a lesson with him on Thursday and wow it was powerful. The entire lesson felt like we were being guided by the spirit with what to say. I can't imagine any other place except on a mission, where a 45 year old man comes to two 19/20 year old boys to learn how to change his life. He told us that he felt peace and felt comfortable sharing everything that he can't even share with and of his friends or family. He was soo humble and listened to everything we said as we told him about the gospel of Jesus christ and I know his life is going to change one step at a time.
"So, if sometimes the harder you try, the more difficult it seems to get; if, just as you try to work on your limitations and your shortcomings, you find someone or something determined to challenge your faith; if, as you labor devotedly, you still feel moments of fear wash over you, remember that it has been so for some of the most faithful and marvelous people in every era of time. Also remember that there is a force in the universe determined to oppose every good thing you try to do." - President Holland
I really like this quote because the last couple of weeks we have had quite a bit of opposition in a lot of different ways. I thought that by the end of my mission, I wouldn't be scared to get on a tram and talk with somebody or to wall around on the streets with a bright white shirt and everybody looking at me. But it can still be terrifying every day. But I have learned that there is power in my calling as a missionary. Sometimes the harder we try, it doesn't get easier, but God is always on our side and helping us more than we can imagine. I love you all! Have a good week and ill send another email next saturday for my next pday
