Week 3 In Czech

Image
Week 3 of being in the Czech Republic and I finally feel like I’m used to missionary work. I’m starting to “get lost in the work” which is really cool to see. Me and my comp have been working really hard and we have been seeing our efforts pay off which is amazing to see. I've already seen some incredible miracles in just these past 3 or 4 days. I’ll start with the hardest day of my mission so far, which was on Thursday. As a mission we made a goal to hand out 300 Book of Mormons in a month. This might sound super easy for many other missionaries out there, but this goal is going to be really challenging for our mission and I’m excited to see how it goes. All day Thursday we were trying to talk to people when we were traveling from place to place and just throughout our day whenever we saw people. We talked to about 40 or 50 people and we couldn’t even get to the part about us being missionaries because they would see Jesus Christ on our name tags and walk away. We said many prayer...

Week 2 Of Being A Missionary

What's good everybody, this week has been really good! It started off a little hard because one of my comps/trainers left on monday so it was pretty sad but this week has been great. I'll start off with a really cool story that happened to me on Tuesday morning that started my day off really good. We were on our way to the church on the metro. The metro might actually be my least favorite place on this earth hahaha. It's the worst, I feel like nobody is ever in a good mood and so it's so hard to talk to people, especially with the little Czech that I know. Well we were talking to this one dude that spoke English so it was going really good. It was like a 5 minute conversation and then out of nowhere this 60 or 70 year old man stands up from his seat. He looked at us dead in the eyes and started yelling at us and saying that we were a cult and a lot of other stuff. When he was saying that, the other dude we were talking too was on our side which was pretty cool. He said ...

First Full Week In Prague

First week in Prague!! This first week has been amazing and I've been learning soo much. I think I honestly got put in the best situation I possibly could be in here in the Czech Republic. I have the best comps, I live in Prague, our lessons are going great and we have somebody on baptism and should have two more after this week, we get fed quite a bit, I’m learning the language because my trainers are so cool, and i'm learning how to be the best missionary possible with the greatest examples around me. I got put in a trio with a native Czech named Elder Konushin and Elder Allred from Utah. Elder Allred leaves tmr back to America and he has taught me soo much about how I can be the best missionary possible and has been the best example to me. This is also Elder Konushin's last transfer so he is basically a vet too and knows everything about missionary work. The best part is, he knows everything about the Czech language and has been teaching me so much.  The gift of tongues ...

I LIVE IN PRAGUE

Image
I'M IN PRAGUE! My first transfer in the Czech Republic I have been assigned to stay in Prague which is super sick! I was told that I probably wouldn't serve in Prague for a while but I guess god has a different plan for me. I will start off by saying that this mission is hard hahaha. I didn't realize how hard it would be to go up to people and try to talk to them in czech when I don't even know what I am saying. It's honestly the most terrifying thing in the world but it's gonna get better and I'll be chillin in a couple months hopefully.  I'm just gonna start off by going through what happened the past few days because it's been crazy and a lot has happened. On Thursday morning we left the MTC at about 8:30 in the morning with the Finnish, and Armenian districts which was cool because the previous 8 weeks we got really close with them. We took a bus to the train station and then hopped on a train for about 45 minutes. We were kinda cracked at loadin...

LAST DAY IN AMERICA

LAST DAY IN AMERICA!! I am officially leaving the MTC tmr morning and I'm so excited. I've loved the MTC and I've learned so much from being here but I've been ready to leave for a couple weeks now haha. Tmr morning at 8:30 I'm leaving the mtc and hopping on a bus. After the bus I'm getting on a tram and getting off of that tram to get on another one. Low key I don't know how my district will find our way to the airport but I'm not terrible with directions so we will find a way. When we get to the airport our first flight leaves at 3 and we are heading straight to the NETHERLANDS!! It's so sick, especially since I've never been to Europe, but it is gonna be a pretty long flight. Once we get to the airport we have a 3 hour layover and then fly straight to Prague and get there at like 2 in the afternoon on Friday. So it'll be a long travel day but that's fine.  We had our last actual class on Friday night and it was kinda weird. We are like...
